Charming French bistro with very good to excellent food and service. On my last visit I was introduced to John Dory that was fried and crispy on the edges.Wonderful fish with couscous and vegetables. Fun, uncomplicated wine list. Beer and wine only. The experience was guided by the enchanting, knowledgeable and adept proprietress. The profiteroles may be the best I've had outside France. I go every time I visit Palo Alto.

Had a pretty good Kir Royale here. Great patio and they were very nice. No happy hour specials and the Kir was $13 - but they also brought us some excellent warm baguette slices with butter. The menu is old timey French classics and not a lot of vegetarian choices. But this is a sweet little bistro and we had a great time having a drink here! Oh - and it being 3rd Thursday here on California Ave, they also had accordion music!

Lovely spot. French onion soup was the best I've ever had! Escargot was so good and flavorful.

I rounded up to 4 stars, but I really think of this as being more of a 3.5 star restaurant. They serve up fresh mussels and tasty sandwiches, but you might notice that the salad in the attached photo looks a little bit sad. I've had the bouillabaisse twice; the first time was lovely, but the second time the fish was overcooked and rubbery. This bistro does have the uncanny effect of making the diner feel transported into a slow-living provincial town at lunchtime. This is nice and rather unique; most other places design themselves in ways that engineer hustle and bustle.
